Hank is a workout tracker for iPhone and Apple Watch that works entirely on your device. There is no account, no server, and no tracking of any kind. We built it that way on purpose: your training log is yours.
Summary
- No account, no login. The app never asks who you are.
- No cloud. Workouts are stored in a local database on your device.
- No ads, no analytics, no third-party SDKs. The app makes no network calls that carry your data.
- Export anytime. Your full history can be exported as CSV or JSON whenever you like.
Health data & permissions
Hank integrates with Apple Health only with your explicit permission. The integration is off by default and lives behind a toggle in Settings → Apple Health inside the app. You can manage or revoke permissions at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices on your iPhone.
- Write (optional): completed strength-training workouts are saved to Apple Health so they count toward your Activity rings.
- Read (optional, Apple Watch only): heart rate and active energy during a live workout, so your session can be summarised. Nothing is read outside an active workout.
Health data never leaves your devices. It is written to and read from Apple Health locally, and Hank transmits none of it anywhere.
iPhone ↔ Apple Watch sync
If you use the watch app, your active workout is mirrored between your iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple's Watch Connectivity framework. This is a direct device-to-device transfer between your own paired devices — no server is involved.
Information we collect
None. All app content — workouts, movements, plans, notes — is stored on your device. We operate no servers and receive nothing from the app.
Crash reports
Hank includes no crash-reporting or analytics SDKs. If you have opted in to Apple's system diagnostics, Apple may share anonymised crash reports with us through App Store Connect. These contain no workout or health data.
Data export & deletion
You can export your complete history as CSV or JSON from within the app. To delete your data, delete it in the app or simply delete the app — the local database goes with it. Workouts already written to Apple Health are managed separately in the Health app, where you can delete them at any time.
Children's privacy
Hank is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children — or, for that matter, from anyone.
