At Trialist we believe personal health data should remain personal. This app is designed to work entirely on your device using Apple HealthKit and local storage. We do not run accounts, servers, or trackers.
Summary
- No account, no login.
- No cloud. Data is stored locally on your device and in Apple Health (when you opt in).
- No ads and no third-party analytics SDKs.
- Export anytime. You control your data (PDF reports and JSON exports).
Health data & permissions
Trialist reads and writes health data via Apple HealthKit only with your explicit permission. You can manage permissions at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
- Read (optional): sleep (duration/segments), heart rate, HRV, steps, workouts, and other metrics you approve.
- Write (optional): none by default; if enabled, only the data types you approve.
Information we collect
We do not collect personal data on our servers. All app content (experiments, logs, results) is stored on your device. Diagnostic logs are kept locally and are never transmitted unless you choose to share them with us.
Crash reports & analytics
By default, Trialist does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. If you opt in to Apple's system diagnostics, Apple may send us anonymized crash reports. These reports contain no health data.
Data export & deletion
You can export data (e.g., JSON, PDF) from within the app. To delete app data, remove it from within the app, revoke Health permissions, and optionally delete the app from your device. Health data written to Apple Health is managed in the Health app.
Children's privacy
Trialist is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
